About

This laboratory aims to develop optical imaging techniques for clinical medicine. At present, diffusive optical imaging and photoresponse tomography are mainly used in clinical studies such as intensive care medicine, brain function imaging measurement, breast cancer imaging, early diagnosis of colorectal cancer and stomatology.

Research Areas

Our current research foci are intelligent biomedical optics, diffuse optical tomography (DOT), near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS), functional optical coherence tomography (fOCT), neurophotonics, wearable optical devices and clinical/home-care applications based on biomedical optical imaging techniques.

Data Analysis

Machine Learning and Deep Learning methods are applied on our latest clinical data.

NIRS

Near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) is a spectroscopic method that uses the near-infrared region of the electromagnetic spectrum (from 780 nm to 2500 nm).

System Design

We design and build medical systems for doctors and researchers to get more information on diagnosis.

OCT

Optical coherence tomography (OCT) is an imaging technique that uses coherent light to capture micrometer-resolution, two- and three-dimensional images from within optical scattering media (e.g., biological tissue).
